
The Embassy of Rwanda to Poland, in collaboration with the Rwanda Community Association (RCA) Poland, marked Kwibohora32 — the 32nd anniversary of Rwanda’s Liberation — with a celebration in Warsaw honoring the sacrifice of the RPA/RPF and the country’s remarkable transformation over the past three decades.
The event brought together members of the Rwandan community in Poland, embassy officials, and Polish government representatives for an evening of reflection, tribute, and celebration of Rwanda’s journey since liberation.
Honoring Sacrifice, Celebrating Transformation
The main celebration was graced by remarks from Ambassador Shyaka Kanuma and Hon. Wojciech Zajączkowski, State Undersecretary at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose speeches paid tribute to the sacrifice of the Rwandan Patriotic Army and Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPA/RPF) and reflected on Rwanda’s transformation in the 32 years since.

A Community United in Remembrance and Pride
Members of the Rwandan diaspora in Poland gathered in Warsaw to take part in the commemoration, joined by friends of Rwanda from the Polish government and diplomatic community. The evening combined formal tribute with cultural celebration, reflecting both the solemnity of remembrance and the pride of three decades of national rebuilding.

Marking 32 Years of Liberation
Kwibohora32 commemorates the 32nd anniversary of Rwanda’s Liberation, honoring the sacrifice of the men and women of the RPA/RPF while celebrating the country’s transformation since. In Warsaw, the occasion also served to strengthen the bond between the Rwandan diaspora in Poland and their host country, with Polish officials joining the community in marking the milestone.
The Embassy of Rwanda in Poland and RCA-Poland thanked all who attended and contributed to making the evening a meaningful tribute to sacrifice, progress, and the resilience that continues to define Rwanda.
